Purpose of the Role
Join the Vehicle Integration team within Whole Vehicle, reporting to the Head of Vehicle Integration. This role is responsible for leading the integration management strategy, planning and delivery for our vehicle projects. This involves operating as the Level 1 integrator leading a cross functional team to:
- Plan the required whole vehicle integration points (GVs)
- Set vehicle content and product maturity targets
- Track target achievement and report status
- Identify risks and issues, develop countermeasures and ensure delivery
- Interface with platform partners from the VW group
- Generate the technical release documentation and approvals for each vehicle build phase
About the Team
The Whole Vehicle Engineering function exists to define, develop and validate extraordinary products that meet customer expectations over lifetime, detecting and resolving relevant issues at the earliest phase in the product development process.
The Vehicle Integration department is responsible for:
- Whole Vehicle Release management, steering and reporting
- Whole Vehicle Integration Management (Product maturity planning)
- BoM, CAD and Config Management
- Fleet and Vehicle Test Management
- Platform and Hat project integration (face to project)
About you – Skills and Experience
- Technical leadership experience gained within a systems engineering environment
- Knowledge of developing systems and/or products within the automotive industry or an industry with equivalent complexity
- Knowledge of software delivery processes and tools
- The ability to process complex data drawn from many sources, assess options and enable effective decision making
- Led and motivated diverse R&D teams to resolve technical and delivery conflicts
- Experience of improving ways of working through structured improvement methodologies
- An Engineering or relevant degree or equivalent experience
