As one of our Bentley apprentices, you will combine practical experience with classroom learning to achieve a Level 6 Product Design and Development Engineer Degree. You will play a significant part in our business as we continue on this exciting journey to deliver extraordinary vehicles for our customers. Based out of our state-of-the-art headquarters in Crewe, you will:

Available Apprenticeships within Engineering:

  1. Engineering 3D Printing Apprenticeship: Learn and experience cutting edge 3D printing technology and build professional skills in CAD and CAM software tools. Your main responsibilities include:
  • Working alongside a supportive team to design and manufacture prototype components for future Bentley products
  • Collaborate with different teams to research new 3D printing technologies and materials
  • Explore new 3D printing applications across different departments within Bentley, throughout your various degree placements
  • Electrical Engineering (UX/UI): A unique opportunity to work on information and entertainment systems. Your main responsibilities include:
    • Collaborate with the team to develop Antenna solutions for all vehicle systems using simulation tools and best practices
    • Antenna performance and radio functionality confirmation via prototype and production vehicle testing.
    • Project manage suppliers and vehicle requirements to ensure they align to required performance targets and timelines
  • Vehicle Performance and Efficiency: Support the delivery of exceptional performance products while minimising our carbon footprint. Your main responsibilities include:
    • Collaborate with Vehicle Motion, Electrical, Attributes, Aerodynamics and Weight Management teams to optimise vehicle efficiency and performance
    • Assisting engineers with all phases of vehicle testing, from planning, execution to data analysis
    • Work with other engineering departments to deliver Bentley’s first Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) and future products

    About the Department:

    The Apprentice positions sit within the wider Engineering department. We are responsible for the entire research and development process of all Bentley products, from idea creation all the way through to engineering sign off. Our mission is to inspire our customers by creating extraordinary products through passion, collaboration and sustainable innovation.

    Training Provider Entry Requirements: There are two training providers available please see entry requirements below

    University of Warwick Requirements: 3 A-Levels at Grade BBC (112 UCAS points minimum) Including 2 B’s in Maths & a Stem subject. GCSE Maths, English & a stem subject Grade 4 (C) or above. Or BTEC Nationals DDD Including 2 Maths Modules. T Levels not accepted.

    Sheffield Hallam Requirements: 3 A-levels at grade BBC (112 UCAS points minimum) including Maths & a stem subject. Or equivalent such as BTEC Nationals and T Levels.
