Purpose of the Role
Join the Production Planning team as the Planning Engineer where you'll be responsible for developing, agreeing and delivering detailed planning requirements for a specific Manufacturing Zone / Technology from Pre-series through series production to end of life. This role will play a pivotal role in driving the delivery of our product strategy as part of our Beyond 100 strategy towards electrification.
Main Responsibilities
- Delivery of Quality Planning (APQP) processes and activities in Pre-series and Series Production ensuring internal and external audit compliance.
- Production process development in-line with project timings and PEP deliverables.
- Supporting Process improvement workshop activities to achieve production time targets.
- Concurrence of responses to Business requirements, Engineering change & technical documentation.
- Delivery of project milestones & monitoring detailed Project plans.
- Maintaining Key Performance Metrics and coordinate activities to resolve concerns and issues affecting achievement of technology targets.
About the Team
Our team is part of the Production Planning Function, we shape and deliver the strategy of Manufacturing at Crewe. Within the Final Assembly and Powertrain team we are fortunate to be able to collaborate across a wide cross functional network to define how we take a Painted Body and transform it to a fully built and tested car ready for customer sale. We are now at a pivotal and exciting stage, applying all our years of experience to define production at Crewe into our second Century across our product offerings.
About you – Skills and Experience
- Good working knowledge of business processes.
- Demonstrates strong communication and influencing skills at all levels across the business.
- Experience of production control and the application of Continuous Improvement techniques.
- Knowledge of advanced product quality planning principles.
- Knowledge of the Product Emergence Process and gateway deliverables.
- Experience of measurement techniques.
- Extensive knowledge of vehicle build processes.
- Higher National Qualification with relevant or demonstrable manufacturing experience.
