Purpose of the Role
As a Lighting and Integration Engineer you will collaborate with the Functional Manager-Lighting to deliver our product ambitions and to shape our Beyond100+ strategy. The Lighting & Integration Engineer will be responsible for delivering series and prototype automotive lighting electronics and software solutions for Bentley projects, to the Bentley quality standards, on time and within budget.
Delivery includes:
- Definition of Electrical system requirements based on vehicle specifications
- Developing the interfaces to other electrical systems to support the integration of the Lighting systems for all Bentley vehicles
- Management of suppliers to meet project deliverables to achieve quality approval at Note 1 status
- Problem investigation and Resolution
- Responsible for carrying out feasibility and concept study activities within the team
- Managing software releases in accordance with calibration maturity and build timing
- Coordinate and execute validation testing utilising both vehicles and Hardware rigs
- Coordinate and execute FuSi documentation and deliverables
About the Team
This role is working within the Exterior Lighting team, the team goal and tasks are to create and develop future world class lighting systems and products. This agile and forward thinking team work cross functionally across the whole business, including Production, Project, Design, Manufacturing, Quality, Body & Trim, Electrical Engineering and Volkswagen Group.
About you – Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will be in an Electrical Engineering role with experience of automotive lighting electronics and/or system integration with an understanding of vehicle communication and/or architecture network (e.g. CAN, LIN, Flexray) and diagnostic tools (e.g. IDEX, ODIS).
- Dynamic and proactive self-starter and the ability to work independently
- The ability to liaise at all levels within the organisation with good communication skills, written and verbal
- Ability to self-develop, a curious approach to new technology and be a proactive self-starter
- Degree qualified in Automotive, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Physics or equivalent relevant experience
