Purpose of the Role

Join the Environmental & Propulsion Test team as the Technical Manager, where you'll have technical responsibility for driving forward emissions, range, and consumption testing carried out by Bentley and its external suppliers. Reporting to the Functional Manager – Environmental and Propulsion Test, your main responsibilities include:

  • Planning and executing Emissions Testing to meet the timings and quality requirements of customers (Engineering, Quality and Certification)
  • Developing, implementing and commissioning innovative and cutting-edge test solutions to meet the business and group requirements
  • Developing robust processes to ensure compliance with legislation and best practice for laboratory and Real World Emissions Testing
  • Responsibility for ensuring availability of the required capability and capacity for the laboratory along with future capacity planning

About The Team

Technical Conformity have recently invested in a new, state-of-the-art Engineering Test Centre. In 2022, operations commenced after receiving official approval from Britain’s Vehicle Certification Agency in conjunction with multiple global type approval authorities. Over the past 3 years, we have already increased the capabilities to include whole vehicle Evaporative Emissions and interior air quality. The Test Centre will give us the independence to develop, test and type approve our own powertrains and further enhance our industry-leading dream factory in Crewe.

About You – Skills And Experience

The successful applicant will have proven experience of vehicle testing, compliance and regulations with a focus on emissions. Experience gained from an automotive or aerospace environment is advantageous along with experience in technical facility investment, design and implementation.

  • Detailed experience of current Emissions test technology and future trends
  • Exposure to and use of state-of-the-art test methods and processes
  • Detailed experience of current and future legislative requirements
  • Type approval experience is desirable
  • An Engineering Degree or equivalent relevant experience
