Purpose of the Role
Join the Design team as a Senior UX Designer where you'll lead the design of intuitive, user‑centred digital experiences that delight customers and support Bentley's strategic objectives. You'll play a pivotal role in shaping the end-to-end user experience across digital products and services, using research, insight and collaboration to create innovative solutions that balance user needs with business goals. Working closely with cross‑functional teams, you'll champion best practice in UX design, drive design excellence, and help deliver the Beyond100+ strategy by creating seamless digital experiences that reflect Bentley's vision for sustainable luxury mobility.
Responsibilities
- Leading the design and delivery of user‑centred UX/UI solutions across Bentley's digital products and services, ensuring they align with business objectives and customer needs.
- Developing, maintaining and championing Bentley's UX/UI Playbooks, embedding best practice and consistency across digital experiences.
- Providing UX expertise and a customer‑first perspective to the Digital Product Line, influencing product direction and design decisions.
- Managing and facilitating the UX/UI Forum, driving collaboration, governance and alignment across projects, teams and functions.
- Representing Bentley within Volkswagen Group UX/UI initiatives, sharing best practice and ensuring alignment with wider Group standards and strategies.
- Supporting the development of UX/UI capability by contributing to the Digital Apprentice Programme and mentoring colleagues to promote design excellence.
- Collaborating with cross‑functional teams, including Product, Engineering and Technology, to ensure UX solutions are technically feasible, accessible and deliver exceptional user experiences.
- Presenting design concepts, recommendations and user insights to stakeholders, using research and evidence to influence decisions and drive continuous improvement.
About The Team
The Holistic Design Team plays a pivotal role in shaping Bentley's distinct and instantly recognisable brand identity across every customer touchpoint. Responsible for design strategy, brand and corporate identity, graphic, digital, lifestyle and product design, the team brings together a diverse mix of traditional automotive designers, product and industrial designers, CMF specialists, design strategists, graphic designers and UX experts. Working across a broad range of disciplines—from Residences and luxury lifestyle products to architecture and digital experiences—the team is helping to define Bentley's future as a world‑leading luxury brand, extending far beyond the vehicle itself.
About You – Skills And Experience
- Strong expertise in UX methodologies, including user research, journey mapping, information architecture, interaction design, usability testing and evidence‑based decision making.
- Advanced proficiency in UX/UI design and prototyping tools, such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite and other collaborative design platforms.
- A strong portfolio showcasing responsive web, mobile, digital product or service design work and the impact of design decisions.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with experience presenting concepts, challenging requirements and gaining alignment with senior leaders and cross‑functional teams.
- Experience leading end‑to‑end UX projects, taking ownership from initial discovery and concept development through to delivery, implementation and continuous improvement.
- Experience developing and maintaining UX frameworks, design systems or playbooks to drive consistency and best practice.
- Experience mentoring others and contributing to the development of UX capability and design maturity, is desirable.
