Purpose of the Role

Join the Manufacturing team as a Manufacturing Feasibility Engineer, where you’ll present and agree feasibility issues cross-functionally; influence product style and part design to support Manufacturing deliverables; lead problem-solving activities and resolution; and help deliver extraordinary customer journeys through Definitive Modern Luxury design across our electrified product portfolio. We have six opportunities available across three teams: Factory Problem Solving, Body Problem Solving and New Model Feasibility. The Problem Solving Teams are fully onsite (five days per week), while the New Model Feasibility Team operates on a hybrid basis (three days onsite per week).

Main Responsibilities

  • Analysing manufacturing feasibility for future programmes, ensuring manufacturability of new vehicle concepts and designs.
  • Leading and supporting feasibility reviews, ensuring alignment between product design, manufacturing requirements and production targets.
  • Identifying manufacturing risks, quality concerns and process challenges, supporting timely resolution through structured problem-solving approaches.
  • Influencing product style and part design to achieve manufacturing functional deliverables and support robust production processes.
  • Supporting cross-functional teams through issue identification, containment, root cause analysis and resolution activities.
  • Managing project milestones, KPIs and reporting outputs to support programme reviews and delivery targets.
  • Conducting virtual assessments and design evaluations to validate manufacturing readiness prior to physical builds.
  • Driving effective communication and collaboration across engineering, manufacturing, quality and launch teams.
  • Providing feedback, updates and recommendations across all organisational levels to support successful programme delivery.

About the Team

The Problem Solving Team supports the successful delivery of new products between Vehicle Final Freeze (VFF) and Start of Production (SOP), ensuring processes and parts are qualified to meet quality and audit standards. Working across Series Support, LQC BIW and Launch teams, you will lead structured problem-solving activities, driving issue resolution from identification through to closure. The Body Problem Solving Team are the interface between Bentley and the body in white colleagues at VW and Porsche for technical issue resolution. If there is a body issue in production during launch or series in the quality of our cars, we work together with our group colleagues and solve the problems. The New Model Feasibility Team influences future Bentley products from the earliest stages of development, ensuring designs are feasible to manufacture, achieve production targets and deliver the expected quality standards. Working cross-functionally, you will help shape vehicle designs and manufacturing strategies from concept through to VFF.

About You – Skills and Experience

  • HNC or a degree qualification or equivalent experience in a Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering or Science related subject.
  • Demonstrable application of Design for Assembly (DfA) and Lean Manufacturing principles, evidenced through involvement in product or process optimisation activities.
  • Proven experience in structured problem-solving methodologies, independently identifying, analysing, and resolving technical or process issues in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Hands-on technical experience in component design, product assembly, process design, facilities, and standardised work systems, within an OEM or Tier 1 environment, is desirable not essential.
  • Evidence of effective cross-functional stakeholder management, including building and maintaining collaborative relationships across engineering, manufacturing, and programme teams.
  • Working knowledge of measurement systems and inspection techniques such as CMM, laser scanning, GOMM, GD&T to validate component or system quality and conformance.
  • Experience applying dimensional management principles, including analysis of tolerance stacks and support of build quality investigations.
  • Proficiency in CATIA V5 and/or SolidWorks, demonstrated through use in design review, virtual build, or engineering analysis activities.
