Purpose of the Role
Join the Corporate Audit team as the Corporate Audit Manager, where you'll deliver independent, risk‑based, objective assurance, advice, insight, and foresight activities across Bentley Motors and affiliated organisations, helping to strengthen governance, risk management and internal controls. Playing a pivotal role in supporting Bentley’s Beyond100+ strategy, this role helps drive operational excellence, compliance and sustainable business growth through the identification of risks, process improvements and control enhancements.
Responsibilities
- Planning, delivering and documenting internal audits and special audit assignments across business functions in accordance with Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) standards.
- Developing risk‑based audit programmes, performing testing of controls and evaluating the effectiveness of internal control frameworks.
- Analysing business processes and risks, identifying improvement opportunities and providing practical recommendations to stakeholders.
- Preparing clear and concise audit reports, documenting findings, root causes and agreed management actions.
- Leading audit opening and closing meetings, communicating audit outcomes and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitoring and validating the implementation of agreed audit actions to ensure timely and effective resolution of findings.
- Supporting the annual audit planning and risk assessment process, including risk mapping, control evaluation and audit methodology development.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of Corporate Audit processes, quality standards and audit methodologies.
- Offering advisory services on request that support Bentley’s management in enhancing governance, risk management and control processes (e.g. design, development, and implementation of new policies, processes, or systems).
About the Team
The Corporate Audit team provides independent and objective assurance and advisory services across Bentley Motors, reporting directly to the Board of Management. As the third line within the established Three Lines Model, the team supports the Board of Management by assessing and helping to improve the effectiveness of risk management, internal controls and governance processes. Working across a broad range of business functions and international operations, the team helps identify opportunities to improve efficiency, strengthen compliance and support strategic objectives. This role offers excellent exposure to the business, varied audit assignments and opportunities to influence continuous improvement across Bentley.
About You – Skills and Experience
- Degree qualified in Economics, Business Studies, IT, Finance, Accounting or equivalent.
- Internal and/or external audit experience, gained within a corporate, manufacturing, automotive, or professional services environment.
- Experience planning, managing and delivering multiple audit assignments simultaneously, including audit scoping, testing, reporting and follow‑up activities.
- Experience of financial and operational audit methodologies, including risk assessment, audit planning, control testing, sampling techniques, full data analytics and documentation.
- Experience identifying process, control and compliance risks and providing practical recommendations to mitigate them.
- Evidence of working in accordance with Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) standards and professional auditing principles.
- Holding a professional audit qualification (CIA, CISA, CFE or equivalent) would be advantageous.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
- Knowledge and/or experience of SAP applications and programming languages e.g. Python would be advantageous.
- Experience using data analysis techniques including experience with relevant software, e.g. KNIME.
