Purpose of the Role

This is a senior management role within Production Planning (Manufacturing Engineering) with responsibility for leading all functional and operational aspects of the Electrical Planning & Commissioning team, with accountability for quality, budgetary control, product delivery, health & safety procedures. The position is responsible for ensuring that all current production models (CMP) and approved new products (including model years, limited editions, FAP programmes) are compliant to PEP deliverables, VW Group and accreditation standards from an Electrical Planning & Commissioning point of view, including High Voltage, Cyber Security and Production Control. The role leads the strategy design, development and delivery for the Electrical Planning & Commissioning function; including the integration of the latest innovations in support of the Manufacturing value proposition. Another major responsibility is to ensure Electrical Planning & Commissioning alignment with the other VW Group companies. In addition to these primary activities, the secondary role is to provide leadership and direction across all Production Planning departments, to ensure alignment to best practice and standardised operations methods.

About the Team

PPM's key responsibility is to deliver efficient and effective processes and facilities to our production colleagues across all the Assembly, Powertrain and Electrical areas of Manufacturing. The team collaborates closely with the other VW Group companies to drive innovation, benchmark best practices, and introduce cutting-edge technologies. Additionally, PPM provides technical expertise to all Manufacturing areas on: torque and adhesive critical joints, high voltage and cyber security.

About you - Skills and Experience

  • Previous knowledge, skill and experience in the automotive industry in an electrical test / planning / commissioning or similar role.
  • Extensive experience of the development and implementation of effective electrical test and dynamic test solutions.
  • Knowledge of electrical high voltage automotive processes.
  • Experience of IT systems and electrical architectures in an automotive production environment.
  • Experience of leading a team through challenging situations.
  • Desirable: good network within Bentley and the VW Group (both with group functions and manufacturing plants).
