Purpose of the Role

Join the Maintenance team as a Senior Maintenance Technician where you'll be responsible for maintaining and improving equipment reliability, enabling output and quality targets to be met while operating within Bentley's policies and safety framework.

Reporting into the Maintenance Manager, your main responsibilities include:

  • Leading major complex problem‑solving activities with a safe, timely and structured approach, ensuring proper escalation and communication.
  • Resolving maintenance breakdowns using in‑depth knowledge of mechanical, electrical, electronic, control equipment, PLC and robotic programming systems.
  • Carrying out planned, preventative and predictive maintenance.
  • Working safely as set out in the safety framework, reporting any accidents or near misses to supervision.
  • Ensuring any maintenance activity does not place colleagues, contractors or visitors at risk.
  • Driving continuous improvement activities, including generating equipment top‑issues pareto charts, utilizing data and root‑cause analysis tools to eliminate reoccurrence.
  • Working cross‑functionally on new equipment delivery, ensuring the department is self‑sufficient from SOP and equipment is robust.

About the Team

The Assembly Production Maintenance team is responsible for the technical availability and uptime of equipment, including continuous improvement within manufacturing. This is achieved through collaboration with key stakeholders across Bentley and the wider VW Group, driving innovation and leading cross‑functional manufacturing activities as part of the industry 4.0 digitalisation journey.

About you – Skills and Experience

  • High level of experience within a maintenance/facilities environment.
  • Accredited apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent; HNC preferred.
  • Project management and contractor control experience.
  • Able to generate effective reports following significant breakdowns.
  • Team‑orientated with strong customer focus and good communication skills (liaising with teams, coordinators, managers and senior managers).
  • PC literate.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of PLCs, robotics and production line equipment (fluid fill equipment, drives).
