Purpose of the Role

Join the Connected Car department within Research and Development as the Functional Manager - Connected Applications & Remote Services where you will be responsible for the management and delivery of My Bentley App, Remote Services & In Car applications. Reporting into the Head of Connected Car your main responsibilities include:

  • Lead, manage, and develop a multi-disciplinary team responsible for the delivery and lifecycle management of Bentley's Connected Services
  • Own the end-to-end responsibility for connected functionality within the vehicle, including configuration, mobile network setup, mobile applications, My Bentley App and associated services
  • Define and execute the functional roadmap for Connected Applications & Remote Services, aligned with business strategy and customer needs
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Software, EE, UX, Cyber Security, Legal, After Sales, and external partners to deliver integrated connected solutions
  • Manage supplier relationships and technical partnerships, ensuring delivery against cost, timing, and quality targets
  • Oversee issue resolution, risk management, and continuous improvement activities across connected platforms
  • Support governance, compliance, and security requirements relevant to connected services and data

Sitting within Electronic Engineering in R&D at Bentley, the Connected Car team's vision is to deliver a suite of features and services that make every customer's Bentley experience truly exceptional. By seamlessly integrating the vehicle into our customers' personal ecosystems, the team aims to create a connected experience that is intuitive, rewarding, and effortlessly premium, fully aligned with the Beyond100+ strategy.

About you - Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in managing connected, digital, or software-enabled products or services, ideally within automotive, mobility, or consumer technology environments
  • Demonstrated people leadership experience, including developing high-performing teams
  • Strong understanding of connected vehicle technologies, mobile applications, cloud-based services, or IoT ecosystems
  • Experience working in complex, cross-functional environments with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to translate customer needs and business strategy into functional requirements and delivery plans
  • Degree in Engineering/IT/Telecommunications or related subject or equivalent relevant experience
