We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Logistics to lead our logistics and distribution function, continuing our pursuit to create a Great Place To Work and industry leading Customer experience. The role combines operational leadership with continuous improvement, stakeholder management and people development. The successful candidate will be accountable for end-to-end logistics performance, ensuring safe, reliable and cost‑effective delivery of goods while supporting the business’s growth and sustainability ambitions.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the logistics team, including warehouse, transport, planning and third‑party logistics partners.
  • Develop and implement logistics strategy to support commercial objectives, improve service levels and reduce costs.
  • Oversee end‑to‑end supply chain processes: inbound receiving, storage, picking, packing, dispatch and returns.
  • Own transport operations and carrier relationships, negotiating contracts and monitoring performance KPIs.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging data and technology to optimise routes, inventory and workflows.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations across logistics operations.
  • Maintain accurate logistics reporting, forecasting and budgeting; present insights to senior leadership.
  • Manage stock accuracy, loss prevention and cycle count programmes to support inventory integrity.
  • Support cross‑functional collaboration with procurement, stores, customer service and store operations.
  • Lead recruitment, training and development for logistics colleagues, fostering an inclusive and high‑performing culture.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Proven leadership experience in logistics, distribution or supply chain management at a senior level.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, transport management and inventory control best practice.
  • Experience managing third‑party logistics providers and negotiating commercial agreements.
  • Excellent analytical skills with experience of using data and systems (WMS, TMS, ERP) to drive decisions.
  • Demonstrable track record of delivering cost savings, service improvements and operational change.
  • Effective people leader with experience of coaching, performance management and building diverse teams.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; able to influence at all levels.
  • Proactive, organised and resilient with good attention to detail and a solution‑orientated approach.
  • Full UK driving licence desirable; flexibility for occasional site and supplier visits required.
