An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Landscape Architect (Senior to Director level) to join a highly regarded consultancy with a reputation for delivering high-quality, innovative planning solutions. With a diverse project portfolio including renewable energy (wind, solar, BESS, hydrogen), grid, and property, this role is ideal for an ambitious candidate seeking to advance their career within a supportive and collaborative environment. Our client offers flexible working options, including hybrid or remote setups, with access to a network of offices across Scotland and the North of England.

Role:

  • Conduct landscape and visual assessments, feasibility studies, and screening/scoping studies for a host of proposals, including renewable energy (wind, solar, BESS), grid infrastructure, road/rail, water, and property.
  • Prepare detailed assessments for landscape, townscape, and seascape character and visual effects, including contributions to Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) reports.
  • Design and implement mitigation and enhancement schemes to align with project goals and environmental standards.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality results within deadlines and budgets.
  • Support client relationships and contribute to business development initiatives.

Senior-level responsibilities:

  • Lead multidisciplinary teams on large-scale projects, mentor junior team members, and ensure the highest quality standards.
  • Develop new business opportunities and manage relationships with existing clients.
  • Drive innovation and technical excellence across the landscape planning discipline.

Requirements:

Essential:

  • Experience in landscape planning and LVIA, ideally within renewables, grid connection, or infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills.
  • A relevant degree in Landscape Architecture or a related discipline.
  • Eligibility to drive in the UK.

Desirable:

  • Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute (CMLI).
  • Postgraduate or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture.
  • Demonstrable experience in renewable energy or infrastructure sectors.
