Working within a small team you will support the Head of Finance by collaborating with the Commercial Manager and Project Directors to enhance commercial awareness and drive improved project performance across the business. You will also play a key role in ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal procedures. Your responsibilities will include managing full client due diligence processes, maintaining accurate fee data in the Oracle finance system and engaging regularly with teams across the organization. Through the provision of timely information and insightful analysis, you will help the project leaders assess performance against KPI’s and support informed decision making.
What we are looking for
- Technical
- Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), OR Qualified by experience
- Advanced excel skills including pivot tables, logic formulas and look ups
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft packages including Outlook, Word and Powerpoint
- Good systems knowledge. Experience of Oracle is desirable
- The ability to present financial information to a non-finance audience in a clear concise manner
- Experience of working within a changing and dynamic finance environment undertaking a broad range of finance tasks and responsibilities
- Good understanding of tax and VAT rules in different countries is desirable
- Excellent time management and organisation skills required. The ability to prioritise work is essential
- Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate and build relationships at all levels and influence decision making
- Flexible and adaptable in approach with an enquiring mind to challenge appropriately where necessary
- Excellent team working ethic to ensure a seamless finance service is provided across the business
- The ability to use initiative when problem solving demonstrating a logical and consistent approach
- The ability to demonstrate commercial awareness and business acumen
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- To work flexibly to meet the needs of the service at busy times is essential

Key Responsibilities
- Full Client due diligence, including review of creditworthiness, currency and payment restrictions, applicable tax rules and treaties
- Project Contract reviews, focusing on tax implication, insurance requirements and invoicing procedures
- Complete ad hoc client forms and portal access set-up
- Prepare and review Internal Professional Indemnity Insurance Risk Questionnaires
- Set up and maintain project contracts within the Oracle finance system
- Perform monthly revenue calculations in line with project progress and financial guidelines
- Lead project review meetings with Directors, focusing on revenue and profitability KPI’s
- Maintain withholding tax schedules and prepare quarterly advance tax reporting (India)
- Conduct detailed project performance and financial analysis
- Provide training and ongoing guidance for project teams to improve commercial awareness and project performance
Other key responsibilities
- Provide ad hoc reporting/analysis as and when required
- Support the team at key periods ie. during absences or heavy workloads
- Provide general support to the Head of Finance where required
- Annual audit responsibilities associated with the role
