Benoy’s Strategy division specialises in providing strategic recommendations for commercial assets, whether that’s within retail, mixed-use developments, hospitality and leisure, airports or travel hubs. We are specialists in understanding customer & passenger behaviour and commercial analytics. We create successful commercial strategies, and develop future objectives and visions for commercial landlords, investors, asset managers, occupiers and airport operators.

We are looking for proactive individuals to join our growing strategy team of Analysts. In this role, you’ll play a key part in delivering client projects – conducting commercial and strategic analysis and research, shaping strategic insights and supporting project management. You’ll be involved throughout the project lifecycle from initial setup of analysing and cleaning customer data and commercial sales data, to final delivery such as creating engaging client ready presentations. This 6 month fixed-term role requires an interest in retail, hospitality and/or aviation with a combination of analytical thinking, strong communication, research and organisational skills. We’re seeking articulate, insightful and driven individuals who are eager to develop a broad range of consulting capabilities. A strategic mindset and a positive, can-do attitude are essential for success. An interest in retail, mixed-use developments and/or the travel sector is considered a plus.

About You

  • Strong analytical skills and strategic thought, to assist in developing commercial strategies to improve performance of assets and operating brands/retailers
  • Strong interest in consumer behaviour trends and purchasing patterns
  • Strong interest in all aspects of the built environment and commercial property across a range of assets, from mixed-use, shopping centres, retail parks, airports, travel hubs, individual brands, operators, retail formats, and e-commerce
  • Ability to work well in a team, communicating with and supporting other team members
  • Willingness to learn and develop knowledge about sectors and processes
  • Enthusiastic, self-starting, professional attitude, and good timekeeping
  • Suitable level of applicable computer programme skills e.g. Microsoft Office suite, including Excel and PowerPoint

Key Responsibilities

  • Understanding the client objectives and supporting internal project setup and planning, ensuring objectives are delivered in a timely fashion
  • Co-ordinating client meetings, record output of discussions and manage data requests, and research requirements, as necessary
  • Proactively communicating with internal and external stakeholders
  • Efficient and effective assembly of report content, applying structured thinking and ensuring accuracy and quality of personal output

Analytical Insight

  • Contributing to hypothesis generation process and project narrative development to develop insights, solutions and recommendations
  • Conducting analysis of qualitative and quantitative data, Desk research of macro-trends, commercial concepts, customer behaviour, and company performance
  • Understanding principles and basics techniques of commercial analysis and basic principles of Excel
  • Assisting with set-up, design and testing of all project research inputs

Client Management & Marketing

  • Creating a professional impression at any client interaction
  • Understanding Benoy’s key services and how we add value
  • Developing relationships with junior members of client teams through project work and informal networks
  • Supporting proposal and pitch preparation

Knowledge & Skills

  • Keeping up to date on industry trends and news
  • Considering areas of personal interest for future expertise
