The Associate Director, Delivery Interior Designer leads and inspires a team in the London studio to ensure that innovative and thought-provoking projects achieve high quality design standards and are delivered on time and on budget. Responsible for the design through to construction, they operate autonomously, requiring only minimal supervision from the Senior Associate/Director. This is a one-year fixed-term role where you will also be responsible for supporting junior colleagues to achieve their full potential. They support the delivery of corporate level business development strategies and actively contribute towards the development of leads and generation of new business across existing and future sectors and markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of interior design/architectural projects, from design through construction, ensuring adherence to specifications, timelines, and budgets.
- Coordinate with project managers, contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
- Monitor project progress and identify risks or issues impacting delivery schedule or quality.
- Provide design leadership during all project stages, ensuring high standards of quality and compliance.
Design Development & Execution
- Review and approve detailed interior/architectural plans, drawings, and models, ensuring they meet client requirements and standards.
- Maintain design intent throughout the project, especially during construction.
- Produce technical details to resolve contractor RFI’s.
- Review and present materiality considering value engineering requests.
Client & Stakeholder Communication
- Serve as the primary contact for clients throughout the project.
- Communicate design concepts, updates, and changes, managing expectations.
- Lead client meetings, presentations, and reviews.
- Address client concerns to ensure final delivery exceeds expectations.
Team Collaboration & Leadership
- Lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects on time.
- Coordinate between team members and external contractors for unified delivery.
Quality Control & Compliance
- Ensure work meets regulatory and safety standards.
- Conduct site visits to monitor quality and compliance.
- Address issues or deviations promptly.
Budget & Timeline Management
- Manage project budgets within financial constraints.
- Work with project managers on timelines.
- Recommend cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
Post-Completion Evaluation
- Ensure final projects meet goals and client satisfaction.
- Conduct evaluations for process improvements.
