Hours: Monday to Friday flexible hours between 07:00 and 18:00. You are also required to work such additional hours as may be necessary for the proper performance of your duties or that may be required to fulfil the role.

Job Role/Description: The Transport Planner is responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring effective transportation plans to ensure the efficient movement of goods for Bennie and its customers. This role requires strong analytical skills, an understanding of logistics systems, and the ability to communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, and suppliers. The Transport Planner aims to optimise routes, manage costs, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and safety standards overseen by the Transport Manager.
Responsibilities
- Planning and Coordination: Develop and implement efficient transportation plans to meet delivery deadlines and minimise costs. Plan and schedule routes and loads for drivers or vehicles, considering delivery priorities and vehicle capacity. Coordinate with suppliers, drivers, and warehouse staff to ensure seamless operations.
- Optimization and Analysis: Analyse transportation data to identify inefficiencies and recommend cost-saving measures. Monitor and adjust plans in response to changes in demand, weather, or unforeseen delays. Use transportation management software (TMS) or route planning tools to optimise operations.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure all transportation activities comply with legal, environmental, and safety standards. Maintain accurate documentation for audits, inspections, and legal requirements.
- Communication and Reporting: Serve as the point of contact for drivers, customers, and suppliers regarding transportation issues. Report to the Transport Manager on transportation performance, costs, and employee challenges as they arise.
- Problem-Solving and Crisis Management: Address and resolve transportation-related issues, such as delays, equipment breakdowns, or route disruptions.

Qualifications
- Experience of working within a fast-moving office environment.
- Proven experience in transport planning, logistics, or a similar role is essential.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in transportation management system Quargo and route optimization tools.
- Confident use of Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook and Sage200.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to multitask and perform under pressure.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and industry best practices.
- CPC Transport Management qualification would be of benefit.
