Exciting Times: Bennett Opie Ltd, Sittingbourne is looking to recruit an additional 8-10 Production Operatives to join our expanding Production team. The Production Operative role is a key role that will cover all areas of the Food Manufacturing facility. Our team is passionate about excellence and food safety and due to our ever-increasing demands, we are excited to be enhancing our team. We are a family-run, established company who are looking for 8-10 colleagues to join our friendly, passionate and dedicated team.

Shift Pattern: Monday to Thursday, Total of 39 hours per week, NO weekends, 39 hours, full time permanent contracted hours. 20 minute paid morning break and 45 minute unpaid lunch break.

Salary: £12.84 per hour

The Role

  • To ensure that the correct PPE is worn and hygiene procedures are adhered to before entering the processing areas
  • To learn factory processes and food safety regulations
  • Preparing product ready to be packed
  • Assess products quality and ensuring weights are correct
  • Packing product and pallet stacking
  • Keeping areas clean and tidy - adhering to health and safety regulations
  • Assisting with the cleaning of machinery
  • Communicate and cooperate with team leaders and co-workers
  • Follow and comply with food manufacturing procedures, rules and regulations
  • Lifting of materials/moving stock - by hand or pump truck
  • Must be able to work across two of our sites in Sittingbourne as directed by the management team.
  • Must be fluent in English due to the environment, however, English does not have to be your first language.
  • Due to the nature of this role and the environment, applicants are required to carry out manual handling, stand for long periods of time and have no nut allergies, hearing or visual impairments (glasses / contact lenses wearers are fine).
