Bennett Oakley is a well-established and highly respected Sussex law firm with offices in Burgess Hill and Hassocks. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional client care, practical legal advice, and maintaining strong relationships with our lender panel partners.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for an enthusiastic and highly organised Panel Remortgage Executive to join our busy Residential Property team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with remortgage, conveyancing, or lender panel experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and delivering outstanding service to clients and business partners.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing a caseload of remortgage transactions from instruction through to completion, acting for borrowers and a wide range of lender panel clients. The role requires strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to proactively manage matters while maintaining high service standards and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a caseload of residential remortgage matters from instruction to completion.
  • Acting in accordance with lender panel requirements and service level agreements.
  • Liaising with clients, lenders, brokers, estate agents and other third parties.
  • Reviewing mortgage offers and reporting where appropriate.
  • Ordering and reviewing searches where required.
  • Preparing completion statements and completion documentation.
  • Dealing with redemption statements and mortgage repayments.
  • Handling post-completion work, including Land Registry applications.
  • Maintaining accurate file records and case management systems.
  • Ensuring compliance with SRA, AML and lender panel requirements.
  • Achieving agreed performance targets and turnaround times.
  • Delivering exceptional client care throughout the transaction.

About You

  • Previous experience within a conveyancing or remortgage environment.
  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage a busy workload and prioritise effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong IT skills and experience using case management systems.
  • A client‑focused and proactive approach.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience handling lender panel remortgage work.
  • Knowledge of the remortgage process from instruction to completion.
  • Experience of post‑completion and Land Registry procedures.
  • Understanding of AML and conveyancing compliance requirements.
  • Previous experience within a law firm or legal services environment.
