A leading UK access and scaffolding contractor is seeking a Graduate Scaffold Design Engineer to join their growing design team based in Wednesbury. Working alongside a Senior Scaffold Designer within a 19-person office (120-140 staff nationwide), you will support the delivery of safe, compliant scaffold and temporary works designs across a broad range of commercial, residential, healthcare, industrial and infrastructure projects. This is a client-facing role with regular site involvement, offering excellent exposure to real-world construction engineering and long-term progression.
Responsibilities
- Assist in producing scaffold designs, layouts and basic calculations
- Prepare AutoCAD drawings for a range of temporary works and access solutions
- Support bespoke scaffold designs in line with TG20 and relevant standards
- Liaise with site teams, clients and internal stakeholders
- Attend sites to gather information and support design development
- Work closely with a Senior Designer to build technical capability and industry knowledge
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or similar (BEng / MEng)
- Interest in scaffold design, temporary works or construction engineering
- AutoCAD experience preferred
- Strong communication skills and a practical mindset
- Full UK driving licence
- Positive attitude with willingness to learn and develop within a team environment
