Position: Transport Planner

Location: Birmingham

Salary: Circa £35 – 40k DOE

Bennett & Game are partnering with a leading transport and logistics provider specialising in both UK and EU road freight solutions. They are seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join their Birmingham office and play a key role in managing day-to-day transport operations.

Transport Planner Job Overview

  • Plan and schedule transport operations across the UK and EU, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Coordinate vehicle movements and driver schedules to meet customer delivery requirements efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including driver hours, vehicle logs, and relevant compliance paperwork.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, depot staff, and customers to resolve any operational issues.
  • Support operational managers in ensuring legal compliance, including Road Transport Regulations, WTD, and UK & EU driver hours rules.

Transport Planner Job Requirements

  • Proven experience in UK Transport Planning – EU planning knowledge desirable but UK planning is essential.
  • Strong understanding of transport regulations, driver hours, and tachographs.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
  • Proficient in transport management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
