Job Description

Our client, a well-established main contractor, is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their office near Loughborough. With a strong reputation across construction, civil engineering, and fit-out, they deliver a wide variety of projects across the East Midlands predominately.

This is an excellent opportunity for a driven Senior QS to join a respected contractor, taking commercial responsibility for high-value projects and benefiting from long-term career progression.

Senior Quantity Surveyor – Role Overview

  • Manage all commercial aspects of projects from procurement through to final accounts
  • Experience in managing a team – this role will include overseeing two individuals
  • Prepare and analyse cost estimates, budgets, and BOQs
  • Administer subcontracts including valuations, variations, and payments
  • Provide accurate cost reporting and forecasting to senior management
  • Support project teams to ensure delivery on time and within budget
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain
  • Travel to Northern Ireland once a month for project reviews

Senior Quantity Surveyor – Requirement

  • Proven experience as a QS, ideally at Senior level
  • Background in construction, civil engineering, or fit-out projects
  • Strong contractual and financial knowledge (NEC / JCT advantageous)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver to deadlines
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel (including monthly visits to Northern Ireland)
