A well-established manufacturer within the metal powders industry is seeking a Production Team Leader to support the continued growth of its production operations. This role will involve supervising production activities across multiple departments, leading a team of Production Operators and ensuring operational, safety and performance targets are achieved within a fast-paced industrial manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will provide leadership, guidance and support to production teams while maintaining high standards of safety, quality and efficiency across all areas of operation.

Job Overview
  • Supervising production activities to achieve daily, weekly and monthly operational targets
  • Allocating tasks and monitoring the performance of Production Operators across shift operations
  • Ensuring all work instructions and production procedures are followed correctly
  • Communicating daily production priorities across operational departments
  • Monitoring production schedules and assisting with operational issues and process delays
  • Checking availability and usage of raw materials and maintaining accurate stock records
  • Reviewing production orders to ensure customer delivery requirements are met
  • Providing support, mentoring and guidance to production staff where required
  • Assisting within production areas including premix, loading, packing and inspection activities
  • Monitoring health, safety and environmental compliance across production operations
  • Ensuring PPE and safe working practices are adhered to at all times
  • Identifying training and development needs within the production team
  • Supporting workplace organisation and housekeeping standards across site
  • Promoting continuous improvement activities throughout production departments
  • Preparing end-of-shift reports and ensuring effective shift handovers
  • Supporting emergency procedures and liaising with senior management where necessary
  • Acting as deputy for the Operations Manager when required
Requirements
  • 2-5 years' experience within an industrial production or manufacturing environment
  • Previous supervisory experience or readiness to progress into a leadership role
  • Strong communication skills with good levels of numeracy and literacy
  • Experience using production control, inventory or manufacturing IT systems
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word
  • GCSE, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent educational background
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
  • Able to work a variety of shift patterns as required
  • Proactive and team-oriented approach within a fast-paced production environment
  • Strong awareness of health & safety procedures and compliance standards
