An award-winning, multi-disciplinary architectural practice based in Guildford is currently seeking an experienced and driven Part II Architectural Assistant to join their expanding team. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your career in a dynamic and supportive environment, working on a range of high-quality commercial and retail projects.
You will play a key part in supporting project delivery across all RIBA stages, contributing to the technical development of schemes and liaising closely with senior staff, clients, and contractors. The role offers exposure to a wide variety of work, from planning applications through to detailed design and on-site delivery.
The successful candidate will be encouraged to grow into a more senior technical position as they become more familiar with client expectations and project requirements.
Job Overview- Assist in the preparation and submission of planning applications and statutory approvals
- Work on bespoke high-end commercial, retail, and office projects
- Produce accurate and detailed technical construction drawings
- Develop design proposals using Revit, AutoCAD, and other industry-standard tools
- Prepare supporting models, images, and presentation material
- Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and local authorities
- Report on project progress to senior team members and directors
- Attend site visits and contribute to delivery-stage activities
- Minimum of 2 years' professional experience in a UK-based architectural practice
- Strong working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD
- Good understanding of UK Building Regulations and the Planning Permission process
- Some experience in the commercial or retail sectors (preferred but not essential)
- Able to work collaboratively as part of a team and communicate effectively
- Comfortable travelling to sites when required
- Residing within a commutable distance of Guildford
- Salary: £28,000 - £35,000 (DOE)
