Operations Clerk Job Overview
Our client is seeking a reliable and motivated Operations Clerk to join their team in Colnbrook. This role is a mix of hands-on warehouse work and driving responsibilities, supporting both import and export operations. It's an excellent opportunity for someone with industry experience who is looking to grow within a fast-paced logistics environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting import, export, and fulfilment operations, including:
- Picking, packing, shipment labelling and bagging
- Processing shipments and handling associated admin tasks
- Performing general warehouse duties across all departments
- Collecting and delivering shipments between the warehouse and airport airline sheds
- Completing paperwork and filing to support warehouse functions
- Liaising with internal departments to ensure smooth communication and workflow
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment, reporting any incidents or near-misses
- Conducting regular vehicle and equipment checks (e.g., forklifts, vans)
- Undertaking forklift duties (training will be provided if required)
- Supporting occasional ad hoc collections and deliveries in surrounding areas
Operations Clerk Job Requirements
- Prior experience in an import/export warehouse environment
- Full UK Driving Licence (25+ preferred for insurance purposes, but strong under-25 drivers will be considered)
- Comfortable with time-critical tasks and shifting priorities
- Competent using computer systems and handling admin tasks
- Some exposure to export customs entries
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
Desirable:
- Forklift licence (or willingness to train)
- X-ray screener certification
- A proactive approach to personal and professional development
Operations Clerk Salary & Benefits
- £27,500 salary
- Monday to Friday 09.00- 17.30
- Candidates must have the right to work in the UK
- Offer subject to 5-year referencing and DBS checks
- Cargo Operative training will be provided if required
- Maximum of 6 points on a driving licence accepted, though a clean licence is preferred
