Design Engineer required for a manufacturer based in Cheddar. We offer an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member, you will be responsible for producing P&IDs, layouts, and general arrangement drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD Lite, while contributing to the development of a 3D library for standard plant items.
Job Overview
- Produce drawings in a timely manner and with attention to detail on behalf of the projecting team
- Develop 3D library for standard plant items
- Liaising with clients on design details - quality control/validation of manufactured designs
- Create detailed manufacturing drawings to assist fabrication including general arrangements, part drawings, developments, and templates
- Produce piping and steelwork fabrication drawings in the form of Isometrics, general arrangements, and orthographic
- Review & check detailed design drawings of piping systems, supports and steelwork in accordance with industry standards, codes and client specifications
- Prepare & check bill of materials
- Provide technical input during detailed engineering of projects
- Provide support and input into the preparation of manufacturing work packs
Job Requirements
- Excellent working knowledge of SolidWorks, accredited in CSWP/CSWE is beneficial
- A good understanding of 2D CAD packages i.e. AutoCAD is desirable
- Ideally experience of piping, engineering, water treatment, filtration and tanks and vessels
- Attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

- Salary dependent on experience but likely £34,000-£38,000
