Mechanical Fitter to join an established manufacturing business in Grantham, building compact crushing and screening equipment for the construction, demolition, recycling and hire industries.

The Role

You will assemble, fit and test heavy machinery, working with mechanical and hydraulic systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble crushing and screening equipment.
  • Install hydraulic systems, pipework, pumps, valves and cylinders.
  • Fit engines, gearboxes and conveyors.
  • Read engineering drawings and assembly instructions.
  • Carry out testing and mechanical fault finding.
  • Use hand and power tools.
  • Maintain high standards of quality and workmanship.
  • Keep the workshop clean, tidy and safe.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a
  • Mechanical Fitter, Plant Fitter or Machinery Fitter
  • Experience with heavy machinery, construction, agricultural or similar equipment.
  • Good mechanical and hydraulic knowledge.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable experience

Hydraulic diagnostics, electrical fault finding, mobile plant, agricultural machinery, engine installation, forklift or overhead crane experience.
