This part time role suits an experienced accounts assistant/purchase ledger, who is seeking a flexible opportunity, within a close knit firm, with an excellent culture. You will be playing a crucial role with a primary focus on purchase ledger, helping to ensure the accounts function runs smoothly
Accounts Assistant Job Responsibilities
- Processing high volumes of purchase invoices accurately and efficiently.
- Matching purchase invoices to purchase orders and delivery notes.
- Reconciling supplier statements and resolving any discrepancies.
- Preparing supplier payment runs.
- Setting up new supplier accounts and maintaining accurate records.
- Liaising with suppliers and internal departments regarding invoice queries.
- Assisting with month-end purchase ledger procedures.
- Supporting the wider accounts team with general administrative duties.
- Filing and maintaining financial records in line with company procedures.
Accounts Assistant Job Requirements
- Must have existing experience within a Purchase Ledger or Accounts Assistant role
- Experience working within the Engineering or similar industries is advantageous
- Should be confident using Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Should have excellent organisational, interpersonal, and organisational skills
- AAT qualifications are also advantageous
Accounts Assistant Salary & Benefits
- £14 per hour (depending on experience, could be a little higher)
- Part time position, circa 24 hours a week, can be spread over 3-5 days
- 20 days holiday, plus bank holidays
