Product Design Engineer required for a boat manufacturer based in Christchurch. The ideal candidate will have product design experience or an educational background. Office working with some working from home ability depending on product stages, so candidates will need to be within a commutable distance of Christchurch.
Job Overview
- Improve existing design work
- Design and programme for the manufacture of products to further utilise the use of in-house machinery
- Prototype and product testing and preparation of pre-manufacturing design package
- Work alongside GRP (Glassfibre Reinforced Plastic), electrical and mechanical engineers
- Work with the management team on product integration and feasibility
Job Requirements
- Creative and solution led approach
- 3D CAD modelling (Rhino software experience)
- Product design experience or educational background
- Exposure in preparing and taking a product design from prototype stages to pre-manufacturing
- Good communication skills to work alongside different disciplines to take practical knowledge into design
Preferable Experience
- 3D printing experience
- CNC programming
- 3D scanning
- Boating or an interest in boats and marine products (not essential)
Salary & Benefits
- Salary- £30,000 - £35,000
