Controls Engineer
Location: Stourbridge
Salary: Circa £50,000
Responsibilities
- Design, build, commission and support industrial automation systems
- Work on warehouse automation, conveyor and materials-handling projects
- PLC control work plus hands-on electrical/control involvement (panels, sensors, motors, VFDs)
- Fault-find electrical and PLC-controlled equipment
- Carry out testing, commissioning and customer-site support
- Support integration of PLC systems with higher-level software systems where required
Requirements
- Good practical experience programming Siemens PLCs, particularly S7-1200 and/or S7-1500
- Strong working knowledge of Siemens TIA Portal
- Experience with other PLC platforms would be beneficial, such as Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, Omron or Schneider
- Experience designing, building, wiring or modifying industrial electrical control panels
- Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and schematics
- Experience with industrial sensors, photoelectric sensors, encoders, relays, contactors, motors and VFDs
- Experience fault-finding electrical and PLC-controlled equipment
