Bennett & Game are representing an established commercial and industrial fit-out contractor who are seeking a Contracts Manager to join their team. The company has been operating for over 40 years and delivers turnkey fit-out, refurbishment and space optimisation projects across the UK. Operating as a principal contractor, the business provides a wide range of services including mezzanine floors, commercial fit-outs, storage and racking solutions, partitioning, suspended ceilings, mechanical and electrical works. With an annual turnover of approximately £3.5m to £5.5m and a team of around 18 employees, the company has built a strong reputation and loyal client base, with project values ranging from smaller works through to major schemes approaching £2m.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established SME at an important time for the business. The successful Contracts Manager will oversee multiple projects and take responsibility from the initial client consultation, estimating and proposal stages through to procurement, delivery and completion. The role is available due to a planned retirement and offers a structured handover, providing the opportunity to gain a detailed understanding of the company, its processes and its established client, supplier and subcontractor relationships.

Contracts Manager Position Overview
- Manage multiple commercial and industrial fit-out projects from initial enquiry through to completion
- Meet with clients to understand project requirements and develop suitable proposals and solutions
- Prepare quotations, commercial bids, project proposals and estimates to support new and existing business
- Complete project take-offs and prepare budgets, programmes and delivery timescales
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations for labour, materials and specialist works
- Agree project budgets, programmes and delivery requirements with clients
- Manage project budgets, programmes, variations and commercial performance throughout the project lifecycle
- Coordinate internal teams, subcontractors, suppliers and site-based personnel
- Attend site meetings, initiate projects on site and monitor progress throughout delivery
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, site teams and project stakeholders
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required technical and quality standards
- Oversee project invoicing and support financial management throughout the project cycle
Contracts Manager Position Requirements
- Proven experience as a Contracts Manager, Project Manager or similar within commercial fit-out, refurbishment, interiors or a related construction sector
- Strong understanding of commercial refurbishment and the ability to manage projects from initial client consultation through to completion
- Experience preparing quotations, estimates, take-offs, project budgets and programmes would be advantageous
- Strong leadership, communication and client management skills, with the ability to coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and site teams
- Commercially aware with the ability to manage project costs, variations and delivery requirements
- A proactive and hands-on approach, with the ability to use initiative and manage a varied workload
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required
