Bennett & Game Recruitment are proud to be working with a well-established and highly respected Civil Engineering and Groundworks Contractor who are seeking an experienced Setting Out Engineer to join their growing operational team across the South East overseeing 4/5 sites. The company have a full orderbook for the next 1.5 years.

Established for over 30 years, this privately owned contractor specialises in infrastructure, groundworks and civil engineering works for major UK residential developers. Operating across approximately 30 live sites at any one time, the business has built an outstanding reputation for quality delivery, staff retention and long-term client relationships. The company currently has around 500 operatives on site alongside a dedicated technical and management team and boasts a strong forward workload valued at approximately £150m.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Setting Out Engineer looking for a long-term permanent position within a stable and financially secure contractor that genuinely invests in its staff and offers long-term career progression.

Job Overview
  • Setting out across multiple groundwork and infrastructure projects for major residential developments
  • Managing approximately 4-5 live sites simultaneously
  • Carrying out accurate setting out for roads, drainage, foundations, external works and associated infrastructure
  • Working closely with Site Managers, Foremen and Contracts Managers
  • Producing and interpreting site drawings using AutoCAD
  • Ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme
  • Managing QA and as-built information where required
  • Liaising with subcontractors and site teams to coordinate works
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Setting Out Engineer within groundworks, infrastructure or residential civils
  • Experience working on housing infrastructure / residential developments highly desirable
  • AutoCAD experience
  • Ability to work independently across multiple sites
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
