This is a client‑facing role requiring strong technical expertise and the ability to manage work independently while supporting and mentoring junior team members. Job Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of clients and act as their primary point of contact for accounting and tax matters.
  • Prepare and review statutory accounts, corporation tax returns, VAT returns, and management accounts.
  • Ensure all client work is completed accurately and statutory deadlines are consistently met.
  • Provide proactive advice to clients on accounting matters, tax planning, and financial performance.
  • Review work prepared by junior staff and provide guidance, training, and support where required.
  • Identify opportunities to improve client processes and implement more efficient accounting systems.
  • Assist directors with advisory projects, business planning, and other ad‑hoc assignments.

Job Requirements

  • ACCA or ACA qualified (or finalist with strong practice experience).
  • A minimum of 5 years' relevant experience working in an accountancy practice.
  • Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards, corporation tax, and VAT.
  • Strong IT skills with experience using cloud accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage, along with Excel.
  • Proven experience managing a portfolio of SME clients and delivering work to deadlines.
  • Excellent communication, relationship management, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
