Our client is a respected, family‑run plant and transport business operating a mixed fleet of plant machinery and heavy goods vehicles based in Redditch. Due to upcoming staff changes and long‑term planning, they are seeking a multi‑skilled engineer who can support both HGV maintenance and plant machinery repairs. This is a long‑term, stable opportunity within a supportive and friendly working environment.
Responsibilities
- Carry out servicing, repairs, and diagnostics on HGVs & Heavy Plant
- Prepare vehicles for MOT and ensure compliance
- Maintain, service, and repair plant machinery
- Respond to breakdowns and conduct reactive repairs
- Perform safety checks and preventative maintenance
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation
- Work effectively as part of a small engineering team
Qualifications & Experience
- Relevant mechanical qualifications (City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent).
- HGV engineering experience essential.
- Ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults.
Salary & Benefits
- £18.50–£22.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience.
- Monday–Friday: 7:00am – 6:00pm
- Every other Saturday: 7:00am – 1:00pm
- Flexibility available in start/finish times depending on workload and candidate experience.
- Ongoing training and support.
