A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Accounts Senior to join a highly reputable and progressive accountancy practice based in Leeds.
The firm is looking to recruit a dedicated professional with strong practice experience to support the delivery of high-quality accounts and taxation services across a varied and diverse client base.

- Accounts Senior Job Responsibilities
- Prepare and produce statutory accounts and tax computations from client records for Limited Companies, Sole Traders, Partnerships and LLPs.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns accurately and within required deadlines, including Making Tax Digital requirements.
- Prepare management accounts for a varied client portfolio.
- File and submit prepared company accounts to Companies House.
- Liaise with HMRC regarding corporate tax and other client tax affairs.
- Act as a key point of contact for clients, developing and maintaining strong professional relationships by telephone, email and face-to-face.
- Meet with new clients, assist with the client engagement process and obtain appropriate HMRC authorisations.
- Support the wider team to ensure accounts and tax assignments are completed accurately, efficiently and within agreed deadlines.
- Review work completed by junior colleagues and provide constructive, developmental feedback.
- Assist with the training and development of junior members of the team.
- Maintain clear, professional communication across all client and internal interactions.
- Accounts Senior Requirements
- Ideally ACA / ACCA qualified, although candidates who are qualified by experience will also be considered.
- Extensive practical accounting experience gained within a professional accountancy practice.
- Strong experience in accounts preparation and a good understanding of accounting and disclosure requirements.
- Experience managing a portfolio of clients and developing strong client relationships.
- Good technical understanding of accounts and taxation, with the ability to apply knowledge effectively to client situations.
- Audit experience is desirable but not essential.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues at all levels.
- Highly organised with excellent time management skills and strong attention to detail.
- Proven ability to self-manage workloads, multitask and work successfully to deadlines.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong commercial awareness.
- Ability to support, review and develop the work of junior team members.
- Highly computer literate, including Microsoft Office and relevant accounting software such as Xero, Sage, Quick Books and Digita.
- A proactive approach to developing technical knowledge and improving efficiency through the use of technology.
- Full UK driving licence desirable but not essential.
- Accounts Senior Salary & Benefits
- Competitive salary dependent on experience, with an anticipated range of approximately £35,000–£45,000.
