Overview: Diesel Fitter required for a well-established specialist supplier of hydraulic and electric submersible pumps. The successful candidate will undertake dismantling, repair and fitting responsibilities on a range of diesel pumps, gearboxes and diesel engines. The role is suited to someone with a background in marine or HGV fitting, a completed mechanical apprenticeship, and based within commutable distance of Irlam, Manchester.
Responsibilities:
- Split working between company workshop and customer sites
- Dismantle, diagnose and fit diesel pumps and engines
- Undertake repair work in the company workshop on pumps, gearboxes and engines
- Visit customer sites across Greater Manchester as required
- Attend callouts for breakdowns as per company rota
Qualifications:
- Apprentice trained in mechanical engineering
- Previous experience in diesel fitting, ideally on pumps or engines
- Confident in stripping, repairing and fitting mechanical components
- Previous experience as a diesel fitter in the marine sector would be a bonus
- Based within a commutable distance of Irlam, Manchester
- Full driving licence – non negotiable
Benefits:
- Full time, 39 hour week Monday to Thursday 8:00 – 16:30, Friday 8:00 – 15:30
- Overtime available
- 33 days holiday, including public holidays
