Overview

Our client is a well-established British manufacturer specialising in the design and production of high-quality power generation equipment for commercial, industrial and critical infrastructure applications. They manufacture robust diesel generator sets, bespoke power solutions and are expanding into Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). They are looking to recruit an experienced Diesel Generator Electrical / Test Engineer to join their manufacturing team in Daventry.

Responsibilities

  • Electrical assembly and wiring of diesel generator sets and associated control panels
  • Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Installation and termination of electrical cabling, control systems and switchgear
  • Testing, commissioning and fault-finding on completed diesel generator sets
  • Carrying out functional testing to ensure products meet customer specifications and quality standards
  • Diagnosing and rectifying electrical faults throughout the build and testing process
  • Completing test documentation and quality records

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Previous experience in electrical assembly and wiring is essential
  • Experience testing and commissioning diesel generators or similar industrial equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Good knowledge of AC/DC electrical systems, control panels and engine control systems
  • Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Counterbalance Forklift licence preferable
  • High attention to detail with a commitment to producing quality work
  • Based within a commutable distance of Daventry

Salary & Benefits

  • Monday - Thursday 08:00 – 16:30, Friday 08:00 – 15:30
  • 29 days holiday inclusive of public holidays
