About the Role
Diesel Fitter required for a well‑established specialist supplier of hydraulic and electric submersible pumps. The successful candidate will undertake dismantling, repair and fitting services on a range of diesel pumps, gearboxes and engines. The role is suited to someone with a background in marine or HGV fitting, who has completed a mechanical apprenticeship and who is based within a commutable distance of Cullompton, Exeter.
Key Responsibilities
- Split working between the company workshop and customer sites
- Dismantle, diagnose, repair and fit diesel pumps and engines
- Undertake repair work in the workshop on pumps, gearboxes and engines
- Visit customer sites across Exeter and surrounding areas as required
- Attend callouts for breakdowns as per the company rota
- Strip, repair and fit mechanical components
Qualifications & Requirements
- Apprentice trained in Mechanical Engineering or completed a mechanical apprenticeship
- Previous experience in diesel fitting, ideally on pumps or engines
- Experience in the marine sector is a bonus
- Based within a commutable distance of Cullompton, Exeter
- Full driving licence – non‑negotiable
Remuneration & Benefits
- Rate: £17.30 per hour (£35,084 per annum)
- Full time, 39 hour week – Monday to Thursday 8:00 – 16:30, Friday 8:00 – 15:30
- Overtime available
- 33 days holiday including public holidays
- Pension scheme
