An established and highly respected precision engineering business based in Hemel Hempstead is currently looking for an experienced CNC Miller / Setter / Operator to join their growing team.
The Role
Dedicated to high‑precision machining, the company provides services primarily to motorsport, Formula 1, and gearbox sectors. Over 26 years of operation, we operate a modern, air‑conditioned facility with strong family‑run culture and excellent staff retention.
Responsibilities
- Set and operate HAAS CNC milling machines.
- Work across 3‑axis, 4‑axis, and 5‑axis CNC mills.
- Edit machine programmes as required.
- Produce precision‑machined components to tight tolerances from engineering drawings.
- Maintain high quality standards for all work.
- Support production requirements in a busy machining environment.
Equipment
- 3 x HAAS 5‑axis CNC mills
- 2 x HAAS 3‑ and 4‑axis CNC mills
- Hypermill programming software
Programming Support
Offline programming support available to focus on setting and operating duties. Programming experience considered an advantage; full programming capabilities acceptable.
Working Hours
Monday – Thursday: 07:30 – 16:30 (39 hours per week)
Friday: 07:30 – 16:00
Overtime paid at time and a half (1.5×). Regular overtime opportunities available. Dependent on experience and skill level.

Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have experience as a CNC Miller / Setter / Operator within a precision engineering environment and be confident setting and operating CNC milling machines. Experience with HAAS controls and exposure to 3‑axis, 4‑axis, or 5‑axis machining is advantageous. Programming experience using Hypermill or similar CAM software would be beneficial but is not essential. Experience in motorsport, aerospace, automotive, Formula 1, or other high‑precision engineering sectors is advantageous.
