Overview
Our client, a specialist snagging and quality inspection company, is looking to appoint a Contract Clerk of Works to support residential developments across Northumberland and Durham. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced construction professional with a keen eye for detail to carry out quality inspections on behalf of major UK housebuilders. The role will involve inspecting residential properties at various stages of construction, identifying defects, monitoring build quality and ensuring works are completed to the required standards. Travel expenses between sites are paid.
Responsibilities
- Carry out Clerk of Works inspections across residential new build developments.
- Undertake detailed snagging inspections and produce clear, accurate reports.
- Monitor workmanship and ensure compliance with specifications, drawings and relevant building regulations.
- Identify defects and quality issues throughout the construction process.
- Liaise with site teams and developers regarding remedial works.
- Revisit sites where required to confirm defects have been rectified.
- Maintain accurate inspection records and photographic evidence.
- Ensure developments are delivered to the highest quality standards.
Projects
You will be working across a variety of residential developments, including:
- Executive 4 and 5-bedroom homes
- Working with a number of major national housebuilders and residential developers.
Requirements
Applicants will ideally hold one of the following professional qualifications:
- AssocRICS
- MRICS
- MCIOB
- MCABE
- RPSA
Applications will also be considered from:
- NVQ Level 6 Site Managers with strong quality inspection experience
You will also require:
- Previous experience inspecting residential new build developments.
- Excellent knowledge of modern construction methods and NHBC standards.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify defects and quality issues.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across Northumberland and Durham.
