Our client is a well‑established independent accountancy practice providing accountancy, taxation, payroll and business advisory services to a varied client base. Based in Accrington, this office consists of a close‑knit team of four staff and offers a supportive environment with genuine long‑term career prospects. The firm is seeking an experienced Accountant to join the team, with a clear progression path towards partnership for the right individual.
Role Overview:
- Preparing statutory accounts for a portfolio of clients.
- Preparing corporation tax returns (CT600s) and personal tax returns.
- Managing a range of compliance work for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
- Reviewing work prepared by junior team members and providing support where required.
- Meeting with clients to discuss accounts, tax matters and business performance.
- Assisting with and eventually leading client meetings.
- Supporting audit assignments where required.
- Contributing to the development and growth of the local office.
Role Requirements:
- Qualified by Experience, Part Qualified, ACA or ACCA Qualified.
- Previous experience within an accountancy practice environment.
- Strong accounts preparation and tax compliance experience.
- Experience reviewing work and supporting junior staff is advantageous.
- Confident communicating directly with clients.
- Knowledge of payroll would be beneficial.
