Overview
Senior Structural Engineer opportunity with a leading UK-wide multidisciplinary consultancy. This client-facing role involves delivering structural designs for insurance, reinstatement, and large framework projects. Salary up to £60,000 (more if chartered) with a strong benefits package and clear career progression opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of structural designs using software tools and hand calculations.
- Manage and oversee a variety of projects from feasibility through to completion, including site inspections and reporting.
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and design professionals to ensure successful projects.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations (e.g. CDM 2015, planning approvals, listed buildings).
- Monitor budgets, resources, and contractor performance to meet project deadlines and standards.
- Support business development by promoting the consultancy’s services and maintaining strong client relationships.
Qualifications
- Structural Engineering MEng or equivalent.
- Solid experience in a consultancy setting, with a broad understanding of engineering, surveying, architecture, and planning practices.
- Up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, technical guidance, and current legislation.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects — delivering on time and within budget.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills, supported by excellent IT proficiency.
- A methodical thinker with a proactive, solutions-focused approach to problem solving.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships.
