A respected specialist Civil Engineering contractor is looking to appoint a skilled MEICA Design Manager to support the design, development, and delivery of major clean water schemes. This role is central to integrating process design with mechanical and electrical systems, ensuring the delivery of technically sound and compliant water treatment solutions. The company's specialities span across a variety of different sectors including water and waste water, infrastructure.
Working as part of a collaborative project delivery team in Hampshire, the successful candidate will lead process design activities and interface closely with mechanical, electrical, commercial and construction functions. Job Overview- Lead and contribute to the design and optimisation of clean water treatment processes, ensuring compliance with industry and client standards.
- Develop integrated MEICA designs and specifications, coordinating closely with mechanical, electrical, and process teams.
- Support procurement activities, including technical evaluation of suppliers and subcontractors.
- Review design buildability, cost implications, and provide technical input during tendering, construction, and commissioning phases.
- Participate in safety reviews (HAZOP, ALM) and ensure design risks are identified and addressed.
- Act as a key technical interface for clients, stakeholders, and delivery teams, ensuring effective communication and coordination across all phases of the project.
- HNC / Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Process Engineering (or related discipline).
- Proven experience in process engineering for clean water treatment or waste water projects.
- Experience of Pumping station projects.
- Strong understanding of MEICA interfaces, water treatment processes, and industry standards (e.g., DWI, EA).
- Experience with process/M&E integration in a project delivery environment.
- Familiarity with safety processes such as HAZOP and ALM and CDM.
- Understanding of different AutoCAD software packages, such as AutoCAD, Civils 3D, Navisworks, Infraworks, ReCap Pro.
- Experience of using cloud based CDE’s such as BIM 360.
