An established geotechnical and piling contractor is seeking a technically strong Graduate Design Estimating Engineer to join their regional team in Chorley. This is a key role that blends technical design, estimating, and client engagement for a wide range of piling and foundation projects across the region.
You will take a lead in developing cost-effective, technically robust solutions for tenders and live projects, working with clients from early enquiry through to order and post-award technical support. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a specialist team delivering innovative foundation schemes across the UK, with full training given.

- Deliver design work for various piling techniques including bearing, tension, laterally loaded piles, and retaining structures.
- Prepare designs for both tender and contract stages, including post-award redesigns and site modifications.
- Estimate and prepare competitive tenders that maximise opportunity success.
- Evaluate incoming piling enquiries and assess technical suitability.
- Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders to resolve site or technical issues.
- Maintain design accountability through project handover and delivery.
- Support junior engineers through mentoring, development, and day-to-day guidance.
- Work collaboratively with regional teams to ensure bids align with company strategy and client expectations.
- Attend pre-tender meetings and client site visits as needed.
- Ensure all technical solutions comply with industry and company standards.
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, or similar
- Interest in a unique dual role with Design and Estimating
- Confident in client interaction, technical negotiation, and cross-team collaboration.
- UK Driving Licence
- Based in the North West
- Understanding of site safety and risk management principles.
- Basic knowledge of business operations, contracts, and project costing.
