We are seeking a highly motivated and technically minded Sales Engineer / Sales Executive to join our clients growing team. Within this role you will play a key role in identifying new business opportunities, developing strong customer relationships, and promoting bespoke special-purpose machine tools and automation solutions to a diverse industrial customer base.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Development & Sales: Identify, pursue, and secure new sales opportunities within manufacturing, engineering, and industrial sectors. Generate leads through networking, prospecting, industry events, and existing relationships. Prepare persuasive proposals, quotations, and tender documentation.
- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with new and existing clients. Conduct customer site visits to understand technical and production requirements. Act as the primary commercial point of contact throughout the sales cycle.
- Technical Consultation: Work closely with clients to understand their processes, challenges, and objectives. Collaborate with internal engineering teams to develop tailored machine concepts and solutions. Deliver product presentations, demonstrations, and technical discussions.
- Commercial Management: Negotiate pricing, contracts, and commercial terms in line with company strategy. Work to defined sales targets, revenue goals, and performance metrics. Maintain accurate sales forecasts and CRM documentation.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven sales experience within engineering, automation, machine tools, or industrial equipment.
- Strong technical understanding of mechanical/automation systems, manufacturing processes, or machine tools.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently.
- Knowledge of CNC systems, automation, robotics, or production tooling.
- Driving licence and willingness to travel to customer sites across the UK (and occasionally abroad).
