Position: Junior Welder / Fabricator
Location: Talaton, Exeter
Salary: £14.00 - £16.00 per hour

The Junior Welder / Fabricator position is required in Talaton, Exeter for our client, a manufacturing business specialising in metal fabrication. The successful candidate will work as part of a small workshop team carrying out MIG and TIG welding, preparing tube sections and supporting the fabrication of components using workshop machinery.

Junior Welder / Fabricator Job Overview

  • Carry out MIG and TIG welding on fabricated metal components
  • Cut and deburr tube sections to the required specifications
  • Operate a CNC bending machine as part of the fabrication process
  • Work with N plates and other fabricated components
  • Read and follow basic technical information and measurements where required
  • Maintain a high standard of workmanship and ensure components are produced accurately
  • Work safely and maintain a clean and organised workshop environment

Junior Welder / Fabricator Job Requirements

  • Experience with MIG and TIG welding
  • Previous experience within a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment
  • Ability to cut and deburr tube sections accurately
  • Experience using workshop machinery, ideally including CNC bending equipment
  • Good practical and mechanical aptitude
  • Junior candidates with a relevant background within the industry will be considered
  • Experienced welders / fabricators are also encouraged to apply
  • Exhaust fabrication experience would be advantageous

Junior Welder / Fabricator Salary & Benefits

  • Salary: £14.00 - £16.00 per hour, dependent on experience
  • Working hours: 07:00 - 15:30, Monday to Friday
  • Overtime: Available occasionally at time and a half, but not guaranteed
  • Standard holiday entitlement
  • Pension scheme
  • Salary review after 3 months, subject to performance
