Purchasing & Sales Coordinator to join our team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is organised, commercially minded and keen to develop within an established engineering and manufacturing business.
We are prepared to train the right person.
You do not need to have worked in our exact industry before.
We are far more interested in finding someone with the right attitude, strong communication skills, good organisation and a willingness to learn.
The Role
You will work across both purchasing and internal sales, supporting production, suppliers and customers on a day-to-day basis.
Your responsibilities will include
- Raising and managing purchase orders.
- Obtaining quotations from suppliers and comparing price, quality and lead time.
- Chasing outstanding orders and dealing with late deliveries before they affect production.
- Sourcing materials, components and consumables.
- Maintaining accurate supplier and purchasing information.
- Handling customer and dealer enquiries by telephone and email.
- Preparing quotations and processing sales orders.
- Supporting spare parts and aftersales enquiries.
- Learning our product range so you can help customers identify the correct parts and products.
- Keeping customers informed regarding availability, orders and deliveries.
- Maintaining accurate information within our MIE Trak ERP system.
- Working closely with production, engineering, quality, warehouse and management.
- Assisting with delivery and shipping coordination where required.
- Following enquiries, orders and supplier issues through to completion rather than allowing them to sit unresolved.
- What We Are Looking For
The right person will be
- Organised and accurate.
- Confident speaking to suppliers and customers.
- Proactive and comfortable taking ownership of tasks.
- Commercially aware and comfortable discussing prices and quotations.
- Able to prioritise several tasks at the same time.
- Comfortable using computers, Excel and business systems.
- Willing to learn technical products, part numbers and engineering terminology.
- Reliable and able to communicate problems early.
- Confident enough to chase suppliers when things are late and customers when information is required.
- Someone who takes pride in completing work properly.
Previous experience in purchasing, sales administration, customer service, logistics, engineering or manufacturing would be useful, but it is not essential .
Full training will be provided on our products, suppliers, customers and internal systems.
Bill Bennett Engineering is an established British engineering and manufacturing business supplying engineered products and hydraulic pick-up hitch systems into the agricultural, construction and industrial machinery sectors.
We work with major manufacturers as well as dealers and end users, so the role offers exposure to purchasing, manufacturing, technical products and customer sales within one position.
