We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to successfully deliver our project to the highest quality, on time, within budget and implemented within the required safety, quality, and environmental parameters.

Project Description: This project consists of a 320 unit scheme spread across 3nr high-rise blocks consisting of a mix of shared ownership, affordable rent and private sale. The project is constructed from a Reinforced Concrete frame with a brick façade and bolt on balconies. The scheme is due to commence on site in April of this year with a completion forecast for late 2028/early 2029. This scheme is part of an overall masterplan of more than 6,000 homes. This is a great opportunity to be part of the transformation and regeneration of Silvertown Mills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaising with Site Clerk - material and plant requisitioning and assisting the control of plant and equipment on site.
  • Junior Quantity Surveyors - re-measurement work.
  • Quality & Environmental Manager, maintaining site records in accordance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 requirements.
  • Site Manager and Sub-Contractors Health & Safety Officer - promoting the implementation of the Safety Management System.
  • Setting out and checking works as required for the project.
  • Co-ordinating Sub-Contractors including maintaining a daily Site Diary detailing manpower levels for each Sub-contractor and keeping accurate notes of all on-site activities.
  • Scheduling daily Work Programmes.
  • Scheduling steel reinforcement and other material requisitions.
  • Making of concrete cubes including recording locations, sending for testing and analysing results as well as other quality checks as required.
  • Taking site and foundation levels.
  • Preparing engineering drawings and engineering calculations for planning applications.
  • Ensure maintenance of drawing register and ensuring proper distribution of all drawings.
  • Attending weekly management team meetings.
  • Provide clear leadership and direction to the site team while maintaining a professional manner.

You will need:

  • Relevant Engineering Degree/Diploma Required.
  • Minimum of 2 years engineering experience working on large scale high density residential or commercial projects.
  • Computer literate in Design Software.
  • Competent in the use of instruments such as EDMs, Total Stations, Laser Levels or Dumpy Levels.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team.
