Mobile fitter required for our client who is a specialist supplier for rail plant and related trackside services specially designed for rail projects for Network Rail. This role requires a coverage area of Guilford and surrounding areas with a company van provided as well as other perks that come with the role, including a generous package. There are routes for progression with this role, with ongoing learning and development and a commitment to upskill their employees.
In this role, you will be carrying out maintenance, service, and repair to company plant and small tools. The ideal candidate will have a background as a qualified plant fitter or mechanic. This role requires a manual driving licence (ideally clean), and the successful candidate will be expected to pass a drug and alcohol railway standard medical which will be organised for you.
Salary & Benefits- £30,000 - £34,000 salary dependent on experience

Carry out maintenance, service, and repair of company and customer assets at customer premises of rail plant and tools inclusive of generators, wrenches, cutting equipment, and other plant and tool equipment. Work alone or as part of a team at customer premises ensuring that equipment is maintained and serviced to manufacturer specifications. Keep records up to date, adhere to company and customer regulations, and ensure van stock is kept to a required level by ordering parts as required. There are no mandatory weekends or night work; this role has a working pattern of Monday-Friday daytime shifts.
Job Requirements- Experience in a similar role from a background in railway, motor, construction, or agricultural
- Time served as a qualified plant fitter or mechanic
- Full UK driving licence
- Flexibility in working hours and happy to stay away occasionally
- Knowledge of small plant engines such as petrol 2 stroke, 4 stroke, and diesels
- Organisational skills to plan own workload and manage time effectively
- The candidate must be able to pass a drug and alcohol railway standard medical and then undertake a PTS safety qualification training which will all be organised for you.
