We're currently looking for a skilled Transport Planner to join an expanding team based in Manningtree (Essex) for our client who focuses on general & specialist haulage movements across the UK and EU. Transport Planner Job Overview
- Operating own allocated team of drivers and trucks focusing on vehicle revenue performance.
- Assist in all aspects of customers transport requirements.
- Communicating with company transporter drivers.
- Allocating and working with Sub Contractor Transport Suppliers.
- Load Building as required.
- Meeting customer lead time requirements.
- Input of job creation into company software.
- Responsibility for on call out of hours contact on Rota system.
- Responding to ever changing priorities depending on current needs.
Transport Planner Job Requirements
- Experience and knowledge of the Road Haulage Industry together with excellent geographical understanding.
- Good Excel skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and on your own initiative.
- Problem solving skills & the ability to adapt plans.
- Able to interpret forecasts and plan accordingly to cover transport peaks.
- Good working knowledge of EU driver hours and regulations.
- Transport Manager CPC qualification / willing to attend transport management CPC training - highly desirable.
Transport Planner Salary & Benefits
- Salary DOE £30 - 35k
- Mon - Friday, normal hours of work between 08.00 and 18.00 (start times may vary between 08.00 and 09.00)
- 25 days increasing to 27 days after 5 years' service (plus bank holidays)
